Gideon Sundback born 24 April 1880 and died June 21, 1954 was a Swedish electrical engineer, the United States. He is often associated with the discovery in the development of the zipper. 



Here's the story of Gideon Sundback
A. In 1905, Gideon Sundback began working at the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
2. In 1906, Sunback employed by the Universal Fastener Company in Hoboken, New Jersey.
3. In 1909, Aronson Sundback married Elvira, daughter of a Swedish-born manager set named Peter Aronsson. Then, Sundback promoted to the position of head designer at Universal Fastener.

Sundback making machine for zippermanufacturing Fastener Lighting Company is thefirst company to produce ristleting located in St.Catharines, Ontario.




Sundback in 1951 was awarded the Gold Medal of"the Royal Swedish Academy of EngineeringSciences".




Sundback died of heart health declined in 1954and was buried in Greendale, Meadville,Pennsylvania. In 2006, Gideon Sundback awarded the "Hall of Fame" by the National inventors for his services in developing the function of ristleting.
